'The world's best wine magazine', followed up its article on 'Age & your palate' (March 2015) with a letter; 'Protecting your assets' in its April issue.

Decanter kindly gave us the opportunity to outline the compelling medical evidence and noble history of tongue cleaning (the Editor, Amy Wislocki, is an advocate of tongue cleaning).

Daily Mail's Good Health section featured the AMANO;

It asked a Dental Practitioner, who specialises in bad breath treatments , to review our £12 solution (incidentally, he charges his customers £205 for the first appointment).

Not surprisingly perhaps, he was sparing in his praise.

He did admit this however:

"It's the most attractive tongue cleaner I've seen"

Bizarrely his advice was to; "hold your tongue in one hand and scrape it with the other".

That's not (we would suggest) a technique the Romans, Hindus and Victorians would have recognised (or George Washington perhaps?)
