The Original AMANO was launched in 1992.

It was made entirely of 18/8 Austenitic Steel, by a leading UK Dental Instrument Manufacturer. The 18/8 refers to the proportion of Chrome and Nickel added to create this Surgical Steel Alloy.

The Original AMANO can thus be placed in an autoclave to achieve perfect sterilisation (if you so desired). If you happen to lack an autoclave, a simple rinse under a hot tap after use will also suffice.

The Original AMANO is designed and built to last (almost) your tongue's lifetime - indeed we have customers still using their Original AMANO's 20 years after first acquiring one (see Endorsements).

Following a number of enquiries we have bowed to popular pressure and released a strictly Limited Edition of The Original AMANO 1992 - in it's original 'classic' packaging.
